The Learning HouseScope of Work
Logo, brand guidelines, print, event collateral, website redesign
Partnering with universities and colleges to create flexible online degree programs, The Learning House (TLH) helps people improve their lives through online education. While working as the senior graphic designer for The Learning House, marketing leadership tasked our in-house creative team with conceptualizing and executing a rebranding initiative aimed at elevating our presence in higher education.
Each of the five designers on my team worked on concepts for the rebranding, but only one would be chosen as the winner by TLH’s leadership.
The creative process
I felt the apple and house iconography used in the original logo was confusing, making it appear that The Learning House was associated with K–12 education. I knew my logo concept would need to move away from elementary themes and utilize imagery that spoke to the achievement of earning a college degree.
Departing from the previous design, my final logo concept embraced a clean, sleek mortarboard mark, a more modern typeface, and a subtly deeper red tone. When leadership reviewed all concepts, my logo was selected as the winner, becoming the face of TLH’s new brand identity.
After finalizing brand and style guidelines, our team seamlessly integrated the fresh look into the development of all new corporate marketing and sales materials. This holistic approach ensured a cohesive and unified brand presence across all touchpoints, reflecting The Learning House’s renewed vision.
